Argon Plasma Coagulation
Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC) is a relatively new electrocoagulation technique. It is a treatment method that uses argon ion beams to conduct high-frequency current non-contact thermal coagulation of tissues, which is widely used in clinics. During treatment, the high-frequency current does not directly contact the target tissue to be treated via the high-frequency electrode but instead transfers high-frequency electrical energy to the target tissue by means of the electrical conduction of the argon-ion beam to exert a therapeutic effect.
Features of Argon
Argon itself is an inert gas with stable performance, non-toxic, odorless, and harmless;
Under the action of high-frequency voltage, argon gas is ionized into argon gas ions, which has good conductivity and can continuously transmit current;
The inertness of argon itself lowers the temperature of the wound during the operation and reduces the oxidation and carbonization of the damaged tissue as well as the smoke and eschar produced during the operation.Heal Force EB05 High-Frequency electrosurgical Generator & EB05-AR Argon Device
Featuring fast and accurate high-power output, high performance and price ratio; microcomputer control, automatically detecting tissue impedance and adjusting power output to ensure the cutting effect, while minimizing bleeding and tissue damage; power automatic compensation to prevent excessive fluctuating cutting effect; with various endoscopes for endoscopic surgery and expandable and upgradeable functions that can be increased according to the needs of users; 9 power modes saving; a combination of high-frequency electrosurgical generator and argon device can be upgraded to an argon knife.
APC Application in Surgery
Open Surgery
General surgery applications: Argon knife is suitable for substantial organs and surgeries that tend to hemorrhage in large areas. Argon ion beam scanning on the surgical wound to achieve rapid and extensive coagulation effect.
Application of Hepatobiliary Surgery: In radical operation of liver cancer, argon knife can produce rapid and powerful hemostatic effect when most liver resections; at the same time, for patients with portal hypertension and collateral circulation, the hemostatic effect of argon knife is obvious.
Application of orthopedic surgery: Argon knife has a good hemostasis effect on blood vessels and their rich soft tissues and bone tissues.
Application to radical mastectomy: Argon ion current acts on the tumor tissue by the thermal effect of high-frequency current, causing tumor cell inactivation and necrosis.
Digestive endoscopic surgery
Coagulation treatment of proliferative diseases of the digestive tract:
A| Inactivation of proliferative tissues such as small or flat polyps in the digestive tract;
B| Inactivation of residual tissue after high-frequency electrical snare resection of polyps and other tissues;
C| Inactivation of proliferative tissue growing into the cavity;
D| Inactivation of the proliferative tissue in the stent and at both ends of the stent of digestive tract stent placement
E| Coagulation and inactivation treatment of early tumors (not spreading to the serosal layer and muscle layer).Coagulation and hemostasis treatment of hemorrhagic lesions of the digestive tract:
Ulcer and erosive hemorrhage, vascular malformation hemorrhage, tumor ulcer hemorrhage is especially suitable for the treatment of large-area bleeding lesions, such as gastric antral vasodilation, etc.Management of Barrett’s esophagus
Recanalization of benign and malignant strictures and blocked stents
TIPS: safety tips for the use of high-frequency surgical instruments-patient return plate detection
The function of the loop plate is to disperse the dense current flowing into the human body from the high-frequency electric knife pen to lead the human body back to the high-frequency electric knife to form a complete circuit. When the contact area of the electrode plate is larger, the current density flowing through the contact interface between the electrode plate and the human body is smaller, and the heating effect of the current is weaker, and the safer it is for the patient. On the contrary, the stronger the thermal effect, the higher the temperature rise of the electrode plate, and the greater the possibility of the patient being burned. Statistics show that 70% of high-frequency electric knife burns are related to the connection of the plates. For this reason, all high-frequency electrosurgical tools of the Heal Force EB series provide a plate contact area indicator window, which displays the change of the contact surface in real time. Once it is lower than the three-segment indicator, the host immediately cuts off the output to eliminate the danger in time.
